Teaching Resources

Understanding the time pressures placed on instructional staff, we strive to provide a complete and efficient teaching and learning solution.
Instructor Resource Kits
McGraw-Hill is committed to providing you with the most effective teaching resources available. The Instructor Resource Kits (available in print and on CD) provide instructors with all of the ancillary material needed to teach an applications software course. Included in the resources are:

Instructor's Manual: This resource provides solutions to the short answer questions, hands-on exercises, and case problems that appear at the end of each chapter. There are also teaching tips, classroom strategies, and additional quiz questions and hands-on exercises.
Student Data Files: Students require data files to complete the hands-on examples and exercises in each tutorial. These data files may be downloaded from the web or copied from the instructor's CD.
Diploma by Brownstone: This network testing solution is the most flexible, powerful, and easy-to-use computerized testbank available. In addition to a full-featured automated grade book program, the Diploma system allows professors to create exams for printing, LAN delivery, and Web delivery.
PowerPoint Presentations: Instructor presentations, developed using Microsoft PowerPoint and other software tools, are available for several of our software tutorials. Check the Web regularly for updates!
Digital Images of Figures: One of the strengths of our software tutorials is the print-based representation of screen figures. We've now converted these figures for several of our books and you can use them in your classrooms immediately. Check the Web regularly for updates!

Skills Assessment
McGraw-Hill offers two innovative skills assessment systems, ATLAS and SimNet, that can be used with the Advantage Series.

ATLAS: ATLAS, for Active Testing and Learning Assessment Software, is our live "in-the-application" skills assessment tool. You are given tasks to complete in Office 2000 and ATLAS watches your keystrokes and then grades the results. ATLAS is Web-enabled and customizable to meet the needs of your course.
SimNet: SimNet, for Simulated Network Assessment, enables you to test for specific software skills in Office XP, 2000, and Office 97. Using a simulated environment (not the real Office applications), SimNet grades a student's progress through a series of tasks.

Digital Solutions
There are several digital solutions available to fit your instructional needs. These include but are not limited to the following:

PageOut Lite: This resource allows instructors to create their own basic Web sites which are then hosted by McGraw-Hill. PageOut Lite includes three basic templates that automatically convert typed material into HTML pages. Using PageOut Lite, instructors can set up a Home page, Web links, and a basic course syllabus with lecture notes.
PageOut: The full-featured PageOut system includes all the features of the Lite version, but also enables instructors to create an interactive syllabus with some course management features.
OLC Web Sites: The Online Learning Centers (OLCs), accessible through the IT Supersite, provide additional teaching and learning resources from our publisher.
MHLA Web Site: MHLA, for McGraw-Hill Learning Architecture, is a complete course delivery system. Besides giving professors ownership over their digital content, MHLA helps you to create and manage online delivery, online quizzing, student collaboration, course administration, and content management.
